Presentation of the Team

Our research pertains to the fields of mathematical psychology, psychometrics, statistic applied to psychology and in the field of psychological and neuropsychological assessment.

Padua Unit

The research group QPgroup - Quantitative Psychology group - has its operational headquarters in the “Applied Psychology” section of the FISPPA Department. The QPgroup’s research focuses on the development and validation of formal models based on knowledge space theory and item response theory for the study of cognitive and psychological processes.

Topics and filed of research particularly relevant for the projects are:

  • the formal modeling of human cognitive processes within knowledge space theory and item response theory framework
  • the creation and validation of psychometric tools for neuropsychological and psychological assessment
  • the development of artificial intelligence systems for psychological assessment and learning

Perugia Unit

Bologna Unit

The team has its operational headquarters on the Cesena Campus at the Psychometrics and Neuropsychology Laboratory and at the SPEV Clinical Service of the Department of Psychology “Renzo Canestrari”. Research in the Laboratory focuses on methodology and applied statistics.

Topics and filed of research particularly relevant for the projects are:

  • the creation and validation of psychometric tools for the neuropsychological assessment of clinical populations (in particular, Specific Learning Disorders and Psychiatric Disorders)
  • the study and applicability of clustering methods as tools for second-level diagnostic evaluation
  • the implementation of machine learning models for the creation and organization of rehabilitation intervention protocols.
